Dinner

We are pleased to announce that Senator Joseph Lieberman has accepted our invitation to be the inaugural recipient of the International Religious Liberty Award, which will be presented October 7, 2010 at a dinner to be held in the historic Kennedy Caucus Room of the Russell Senate Office building.

The program that evening will include Jenny Oaks Baker, a No. 1 Billboard Magazine Recording Artist and former 1st Violinist with the National Symphony Orchestra, and Lisa Hopkins Seegmiller, a Tony Award winning, Grammy nominated Soprano.

CLE

A CLE presentation on religious freedom—featuring Von Keetch of Kirton & McConkie, Eric Rassbach, the National Litigation Director for the Becket Fund for Religious Liberty, Cole Durham, the Director of the International Center for Law and Religion Studies, and Mark E. Chopko of Stradley Ronon Stevens & Young LLP—will be offered in the Hart Auditorium of the Georgetown University Law Center at 5 PM that evening. Information concerning tickets for these events will be circulated shortly, but we hope you will save the date and plan to attend.

About

The award dinner and CLE are part of a Religious Freedom Initiative originating with the DC Chapter of the J. Reuben Clark Law Society and its affiliated student chapters in cooperation with the International Center for Law and Religion Studies. The Initiative also includes a student writing competition on religious liberty and the Religious Freedom Moot Court competition hosted by the Society's student chapter at George Washington University in February.

We hope you can join us for the CLE and the dinner.
