8th Annual Religious Liberty Award Dinner 
September 8, 2017

The J. Reuben Clark Law Society is pleased to announce its 8th Annual International Religious Liberty Award Dinner. We congratulate this year's award recipient--Baroness Elizabeth Berridge--for her many years of support and work for religious liberty. Winners of the 2017 Founding Fathers Student Writing Competition will also be recognized at the dinner. The Keynote address will be given by Elder D. Todd Christofferson of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Tickets for the dinner will be available in the coming weeks.

This year's event will also include two consecutive panels held prior to the award dinner: "The Economic Impact of Religious Liberty" and "Promoting Religious Liberty Within Your Sphere of Influence". The panels are open to the public and free of charge.

The Mid-Atlantic Chapter of the J. Reuben Clark Law Society announces the 8th Annual Religious Liberty Writing Competition, made possible by the Jack P. Peterson and Maude Birkin Peterson Endowment.  The purpose of the writing competition is to promote legal and academic studies in the field of religious liberty by law students and students pursuing related graduate studies. Students who have graduated from law school but who are not yet practicing law due to clerkships or other similar pursuits are also invited to submit papers.

The JRCLS DC/Mid-Atlantic Chapter invites law students and students pursuing related graduate studies to submit academic papers for the Religious Liberty Student Writing Competition. First place will receive a $4,000 cash award, second place will receive a $3,000 cash award, third place will receive a $2,000 cash award, and four honorable mentions will receive a $1,000 cash award.

Reuben Clark Law School's International Center for Law and Religious Studies, we congratulate this year's award recipient Congressman Frank Wolf from Virginia for his many years of support and work for religious liberty.  Throughout his career in Congress, Representative Wolf has championed efforts to alert our nation and the world to the plight of men, women, and children who are persecuted for living their religious convictions. For his tireless advocacy and record of legislative accomplishment, we proudly announce his selection for the 2014 International Religious Liberty Award.
